How to Start a Blog in Easy Steps and Get Paid for it in 2022

How to Start a Blog

This is a complete step-by-step guide of How to Start a Blog in 2022. Hmm… Let’s just take you back to where everything begins.

Ever since I first got in touch with this whole WWW(World Wide Web) thing, I’ve always been too obsessed with surfing the internet(especially on Google) to keep up with the latest Infos, news, histories, biographies, etc.

But until recently(to be exact 2021), I never realized or thought that there are ways to make money off the internet from the comfort of my home.

And, I’m sure that you have been also seeing all over the web that there are pretty much incredible Online Business Ideas to start. Am I right?

Past that, what’s interesting here is from those countless ways to make money online, in many ways, considering its pros & cons, in the end, I find the Blogging Business quite lucrative. Not to mention that I also come across some of the UNIQUE Blogging Benefits.

As a consequence, by the time I knew what a blog really is, I had got no other options left, but to start my own blog ASAP and be part of this huge Surface Web right off the bat.

That’s exactly what I did!

Following that, little did I know my Minimal Viable Blog(MVB) that I just started in 2021 will become to the point it is today(Even though I have strategized my nitty-gritty journeys from the very beginning).

As a result, guess what? – The plan worked to a T!

Beyond starting my blog, which I remember like it was yesterday, I enjoyed the ups & downs of the blogging journeys. Plus I have been honored to build a small genuinely-interested worldwide community so far.

And now, I’m about to share with you each of the little steps that I followed to start my blog, all in an easy-to-understand GUIDE.

I can say that I have tried my best to cover every necessary detail in this article just thinking of “YOU” as “ME” 1 year ago figuring out ways to be a better blogger.

Anyways, here we go with the first STEP…

Before You Start a Blog and Get Paid in 2022

Before You’re going to jump on how to Start a Blog is all about preparing for the procedures that come up in advance of the actual Blogging Journey.

Thus, let’s see these PROCEDURES of how to start a blog one by one.

STEP #1 What is a Blog?

First of all, a Blog is nothing but an online presence on the WWW(World Wide Web) with a Personal Updated Website.

Now you’re on my Blog reading “How to Start a Blog in 2022: (9-Actionable-STEPs + Bonus!)” Post.

As many people don’t know the difference between a Blog and a Website, it’s better to distinguish them for better clarity.

The Difference Between a Blog and a Website

A Blog is most of the time created & owned by a single person. And it’s associated with regularly updated Blog Posts. The Blog Posts appear in reverse chronological order with the latest ones appearing on the top.

But, a Website is most of the time is created by an established Company or Organizations and the website is more or less static pages.

Of course, some websites have a Blog page as part of the website. And it uses for driving traffic, getting exposure, and increasing the number of the Company’s Customers.

Having said that, now our main focus is on the Personal Blog.

STEP #2 Who Can Start a Blog?

Anyone from anywhere in the world with a COMPUTER and a decent INTERNET CONNECTION or shared Wifi can start a Blog.

Plus, you don’t need to spend too much. If you’re savvy and want to become familiar with a blog, it costs you the price of a couple of coffees for the basics.

Yet, the harsh truth is a Blog is not for everyone.

If you thought that blogging is all about writing articles on any topics under the sun whenever you feel like writing. I suggest, you better stick with your 9-5 day job and spend the whole day hiding behind a cubicle.

Because it doesn’t gonna work that way. Sorry!

The Truth about Starting a Blog

Since making money from your Blog is your priority as many bloggers are doing it out there. You have to treat it like a real business from the very beginning.

Otherwise, get ready to be one of the 33% ‘s people who don’t make money from their blog at all.

Besides, around 94% of people start a blog and then give up and fail before even reaching a full year or even a 6 month(half-year).

The only exception is if you’re aiming to be a Hobby Blogger in the first place. If that’s the case, it’s ok! Just go for it and have fun along the way.

But on the condition that you’re serious about blogging. And you’re dedicated to standing up to outrank even the so-called Top Bloggers who are doing this thing for decades.

Plus if you’re ready to sacrifice some of your time for just You and Your Computer’s hours. That is to make thousands of dollars lucrative passive incomes, in the end, work from anywhere in the world as well as set up your own SCHEDULE.

Congratulations! You’re on the go and qualified to “How to Start A Blog”.

STEP #3 Deciding on a Profitable Blog Niches when Starting a Blog

Yes, you heard that before “a Blog is a Personal Updated Website”.

But, that doesn’t mean you can write posts about “Top Music Lists” today, “Best Places to Visit” tomorrow, and “How to Manage Your Money” in the coming week.

That might have worked a long time ago or it is still working on a Hobby or Lifestyle Blog. But as a serious Full-time Blogger, it doesn’t actually gonna work, it has died for the good.

Today, there are over 570 million blogs out there. Out of this some of which are giants. And they are with hundreds of employees and pop out High-quality Content every single second like a MACHINE.

There are over 570 Million Blogs

And there is no way you are going to compete with them as a solo beginner. So you need to narrow down your Blog Niche.

Even on a specific Topics or area, you have to niche even further if you want to see Satisfying Results as well as build Genuine Audiences.

As a Beginner when you decided to try a blog, there are many profitable Blog Niches to choose from based on your passion as well as CASH(the truth that no one wants to talk about it).

Some Profitable Blog Niches to Consider When Starting a Blog

Here is a list of a few profitable Blog Niches;

  • Food
  • Travel
  • Finance
  • Fashion
  • Technology
  • Business & Marketing, etc

There isn’t something secret here, but it’s all about balancing what you want to talk about with how to stay PROFITABLE in that niche for the long haul.

For instance, you might want to talk about Music all the time.

But once you find out that there is no way to monetize this niche, you start to get dissatisfied, burn out and finally say “GBCW” and give up all-in-all.

On the other hand, because you heard that FINANCE is one of the most Profitable Blog Niches. And you honed on it without having any idea about Finance. Let’s say from the simplest one’s bookkeeping, journal entry, income statement. Or even the concept of Wall Street Journal and $1 salary, is a bad idea either.

Because it’s going to be the Niche that you’re going to stick to as long as the show goes on and Publish Content around it on a regular basis.

And if you don’t have a passion for Finance in the first place or at least some interest to wake up early in the morning and Outline or Draft your next article.

Then it’s going to show up on your Blog Posts that you are in it just for the number.

As a result, guess what?

You’ll never gonna build a Genuine Community that can’t wait to see your upcoming articles get Published.

So on this one try to balance your passion with the profitability of the niche.

Tips on choosing a Profitable Blog Niches

Assuming that almost all people are passionate about so many things at a time, the only thing that matters here is the Ranking Positions.

That means you need to find the ideal Passion(or sweet spot) for you, among the top-ranked ones in your lists.

Plus in the end, Be Creative & Work Harder in your selected niche. That is to always bring something new that the majority of Bloggers lack to cover in their Content.

For more on deciding on a Blog Niche, I suggest reading the Most Profitable Blog Niches first, then work your way up to your final decision.

Just Getting on How to Start a Blog and Get Paid in 2022

Take for granted that you have chosen a specific Blogging Niche in your head before even thinking about starting a blog. Or after reading the above article, let’s say you come up with a Brilliant Idea.

Then, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

Just get to start a Blog right here, right in your hand, and learn the nitty-gritty inside out of Blogging through time.

Or else, wait for months to find out the old wives’ tale of a blog.

The choice is YOURS!

STEP #1 Choosing a Domain Name when Starting a Blog

By now, let’s say you have decided on a Blog Niche. And the next thing is going to be choosing a Domain Name.

First of all, to make it crystal clear a Domain Name is the name of your Blog that appears on Protocol(HTTP/HTTPS) when you Search Google or Type a URL.

For example, my Domain Name is Online Money Spinner (www.onlinemoneyspinner.com or https://onlinemoneyspinner.com).

Online Money Spinner Blog

And wherever you type this into a Search Engine bar like Google, what you see is my blog. I just own it as long as my blog is live on the internet 24/7 with the help of my Web Hosting Provider.

The cool part is some people have already in their mind what their Domain Name is going to be when they think about starting a blog. While others struggle a lot to come up with Interesting and Brand Names.

If your case is on the latter one, there are some Actionable Steps to help you decide on a Domain Name.

Some Tips on Deciding on a Domain Name

To mention a few, the following are the things to consider to Choosing a Domain Name.

These are;

  • Are you OK with your Real Name used as a Blog Name?
  • Do you want your Blog Niches or Topics to be on the front spot instead?
  • Rather Do you want it to be a mix of both?
  • Or else Are you looking for a Brand Name out of nowhere?

First, be sure of that and then try to come up with a SHORT, ATTRACTIVE & MEMORABLE Domain Name.

Hmm… The truth is, today most of the Popular Names are already taken. Especially the ones that end with the .com extensions.

Since the .com is the most common extension and the go-to go for Starting a Blog, it becomes a little bit exasperating.

Plus even if other TLDs are also available like .net, .org, etc. They are most of the time used by INSTITUTIONS and GOVERNMENTS.

And unless you really need it or you want to Create a Website for your Business, as a Personal Blog Starter I recommend you go for the .com extension.

Things to Consider when Choosing a Domain Name

As I mentioned before, there are a few Popular Names that you’ll find left to go for with the .com extensions.

For instance, when I search for the name “Business” on the Bluehost Web Hosting Services,

Business.com Domain Name is not available

It says taken.

Now, if you really want the name and you’re comfortable in the alikes, then try to Add, Reduce or Shuffle Words a little bit.

So that in the end, you can come up with an alternative name without going too far.

But make sure that by doing so, you are not Infringing Trademarks. This is one of the must-to-know precautions when Starting a Blog to avoid the associated lawsuits and litigation stuff later.

If you’re still struggling to deal with choosing a Domain Name that is perfect for your Blog, I recommend you read the article “ How to Choose a Domain Name”.

After all, remember that the Domain Name you have chosen is going to stay with you. This is as long as you keep paying a Domain name renewal fee to the Domain Name Registrar Sites.

Sure, you can change that later, but it is not that easy. There is a high chance of losing many associated things if it isn’t done well. These Includes webpage Ranking Position, Domain Authority, The Speed of the Site, and so on.

That means, your first shot is going to be the best shot when it comes to choosing a Domain Name to start a blog with.

So choose many times, but decide once for a Lifetime!

STEP #2 Selecting The Best Web Hosting Services when Starting a Blog

You have decided on a Blog Niche & Have Your Domain Name in hand, now it’s time to select a Web Hosting service.

Many People confuse a Web Hosting Service with a Content Management System(CMS).

We will discover more about Content Management System(CMS) later in this Blog Post.

For now, let’s talk about Web Hosting Services.

Here, Web Hosting Services are companies that make your Blog let’s say www.thefinanceblog.com stay on the web cloud 24/7. This is to be accessible by anyone who searched for it from anywhere in the world.

Most of the time the “Search” is done by typing your Domain Name on Search Engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo.

Now, starting a Blog is taking some Actionable STEPS…

Selecting Web Hosting Services

When it comes to Web Hosting Services, there are a lot of affordable & Best Web Hosting Services to choose from.

But, Bluehost is the best choice to go for as a Blog Starter.

Bluehost Web Hosting Services

The reason for this is that it is affordable on budget and easy to use. Plus it only requires a few CLICKS to just set it up.

All-in-all, Bluehost is a web hosting service that is a primary choice for many Blog Beginners’.

The best part is it provides a FREE Domain Name for the first year, which you get on a fee from Domain Name Registrar Sites like NameCheap & GoDaddy.

Besides, in your first years of Blogging, you spend most of the time setting up your Mini Viable Blog(MVB). And trying to find smart ways to become a better blogger or become perfect at blogging.

As a result, Bluehost is the go-to go and it is what I recommend for Beginners.

To begin with, first just buy a PACKAGE for 1 year, which has some DISCOUNTS when compared to a Monthly Fee.

And once you see it for a full year, you’ll be one step ahead in the Blogosphere(Blog Community).

So, afterward if you find it the best choice, you can pay for another Package. If not, you will switch to another Hosting Provider. It is as simple as that!

Having said that, now let’s go back to the actionable STEPs of how to start a blog to create your own small place on the huge internet. This is through using the most affordable and beginner-friendly Web Hosting Service Bluehost.

But, wait a minute!

Don’t get too excited here, instead keep some of that for your first $100 blogging from the internet by way of using a Computer PART.

For now, let’s go back to what we have started before.

After The STEPS of Buying a Domain Name from Bluehost

Like I said, once you have finished the above STEPs. Then about an hour or two later, you’ll receive a Message from Bluehost right into the Email Address you have used to buy Web Hosting.

The Email includes your cPanels Username & Default Password.

cPanel Admin Username & Admin Password

Congrats! Halfway done!

A cPanel is a special site management tool where you manage your Hosting Server & HTMLS Features as an end-user. cPanel also provides you with automation tools and a graphical interface(GUI).

Though don’t get confused here, nobody is perfect. Each Professional Blogger has passed through this path.

Once you have got the EMAIL of your cPanel. Then change the Username & the Default Password to your favorite Words, Symbols, and Characteristics ASAP.

Besides, make sure that you don’t forget the changes you made later on.

Following that, the NEXT thing is to set up a Content Management System(CMS).

STEP #3 Getting-Ready The Content Management Systems(CMS) when you Start a Blog

Simply, Content Management System(CMS) is a platform where you manage the looks of your Blog that Visitors see when they get into your Web Pages.

The looks include;

  • Header
  • Footer
  • Sidebar
  • Pages & Posts
  • Colors & Images
  • Typography, etc.

The difference between cPanel & CMS. First, cPanel is the backbone of your Blog where you fix important background errors through using coding and HTML systems.

On the other hand, CMS is a software where you control the looks of your Site Content by way of using Themes and Plugins.

When we come to selecting a CMS, there are many Content Management Systems available.

But if you’re thinking long-term, I recommend you to go for a Self-hosted one otherwise known as WordPress.org. Instead of the FREE hosted platforms like Blogger and Tumblr.

Plus make sure that you don’t get confused when you hear the word WordPress in general.

Because there are two types of WordPress. These are WordPress.com and WordPress.org. And now we are talking about the latter one(WordPress.org) here.

WordPress – Content Management System(CMS)

WordPress is the most popular Content Management System Platform in the World. It powers over 36% of the top internet websites when distributed to 1 million.

WordPress powers over 37% of Websites

Besides, CMS WordPress is used by Big Brands like BBC America, Techcrunch, Sony Music, and Time Magazine, of course, I also use WordPress for my blog.

But, the question is: How can you build a Personal Website with a Content Management System?

Like I said before – after you buy a Web Hosting Service from Bluehost. Then within about an hour, they will send you a cPanel’s Username and Password right to your Email.

Now, log in to your cPanel using the Username & Password you have received.

To access your cPanel login. TYPE https:yourdomainname.com:2083 on the top of your browser URL bar. Or you can also directly access it via your Web Hosting Services account.

cPanel Login URL

Note: “yourdomainname” is used as an example in place of the Domain Name you have purchased.

Setting Up WordPress Through cPanel

To set up WordPress, the first Login to your cPanel account.

cPanel Login

Next, search for “Softaculous App Installer” on the top right corner of the platform homepage.

cPanel Homepage

Then by clicking the Softaculous Apps Installer, you can activate WordPress. This is within a One-Click Installation Process.

Softaculous Apps Installer on cPanel

As you can see below, WordPress is on the top list of the available Content Management Systems. But if by chance you can’t find it, just search for it on the top left side of the search bar.

Searching WordPress on Softaculous Apps Installer

Finally, hit WordPress’s “Install Button” and from there create Admin Username & Admin Password. Then You’re All Done!

Installing WordPress on cPanel using Softaculous Apps Installer

Once you install the WordPress CMS into your cPanel and create Admin Username & Password. It’s time to Customize the looks of your Site as well as start to work on Setting It Up to make it a fully-functional Blog.

Now, things are getting a little bit exciting as well as frustrating.

Anyway, let’s finish what we have started…

In the next article, We are going to look at the self-hosted WordPress in Two sections. One is The Designing Part and The Other is The Setting Up Part.

Designing a Blog Using WordPress Themes

After you have installed a WordPress into your cPanel, the next thing is to design your Blog by navigating to the WordPress Dashboard.

To access your WordPress login, TYPE https:yourdomainname.com/wp-admin on the top of your browser URL bar.

WordPress Login URL

Note: “yourdomainname” is used as an example in place of the Domain Name you have bought.

And then ENTER your Admin Username & Admin Password that you have created before into the WordPress Login.

WordPress Login

From there you’ll be directed to the self-hosted WordPress Homepage.

As a precaution, when you start Designing your Blog, you have to at least take some time to craft the nitty-gritty details of the elements of your Blog. This is for a better Conversion Rate in the future.

It’s sad but true that 50% of Consumers believe website design is an important part of a Business’s overall brand.

Also, the DATA puts out that 38.5% of people leave a website just because of its Poor Design and Navigation as well as Functionality.

Website Design Survey

Furthermore, Website Design can have a significant impact on your Blog Performance like PageSpeed.

That means you have to be really careful here.

You just don’t believe me, it took me many weeks to Design my Blog for the first time. In spite of that, I’m still doing it every now and then.

Getting on Starting Designing a Blog

As usual, the question here is “Where do you start from when it comes to Designing your Blog?”.

The answer is simple. Which is from Installing a Theme on the Content Management Systems(CMS) of your self-hosted WordPress.

Even if there are a number of available WordPress Themes. Like OceanWP, GeneratePress, Hello Elementor, etc. from my personal experience I suggest you go for The Astra Theme.

WordPress Themes

Astra is a beginner-friendly Theme and it has so many features on its FREE plan. Plus when compared to others it makes your website loads fast.

And guess what? It is The WordPress Theme that I’m using for my Blog(Online Money Spinner).

Anyways, let’s take you to The STEPs;

STEPS on Installing Astra Theme on WordPress

First of all, hover over to Appearance from your WordPress Homepage.

WordPress Appearance to Start Blog Desighning

Then, click on the “Themes”.

Themes on WordPress Appearance

As usual, you’ll see the current WordPress default theme which is Twenty Twenty-One. But now we are going to use the Astra Theme, right? So, hit the “Add New” button.

Adding Theme on WordPress to Start a Blog

Next, search for Astra on the Search Bar.

Searching Astra Themes on WordPress

And finally, “Install” & “Activate” the Theme.

First of all, go to WordPress Dashboard

WordPress Dashboard

And hover over to Appearance.

WordPress Appearance

Then, hit the Customize Button.

Starting a Blog from WordPress Customize

And from that, you can see the following BASICS in a row.

WordPress Customize Elements

Now, you are able to start to work on Customizing the looks of your brand new Blog straight away by going to those every single Element one by one.

Global
WordPress Global Customize

Global is one Part of the Customize Element. It’s where you make changes to the Typography you’re gonna use, the background Colors, the Page & Blog Post Layout Widths, and the Button’s presents.

Header Builder
WordPress Header Builder Customize

WordPress Footer Builder Customize

Footer Builder, on the other hand, is where you customize the FOOTER Part of your Blog. These include Copyrights, Social Icons, Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and HTMLs.

WordPress Sidebar Customize

Besides, there is a Sidebar Section where you Add a Sidebar to your Blog Pages, Posts, and Archives plus Control their Width.

At long last, make sure to check for the looks of your Blog on any Device one by one too. This is from Desktop, Mobile to Tablet by switching the icons below every Customize Element or using Additional CSS.

Optimizing the looks of a Blog on any device

Especially, try to make your blog mobile-friendly. Because now Search Engines like Google use mobile-first indexing algorithm.

This is an algorithm to index & rank Blog Posts depending on the mobile version of the Content.

Having said that, don’t also forget to Optimize the Permalinks.

Permalinks are the URL of your web pages which are set once and remain unchanged forever. That means you have to optimize them perfectly in the first place.

To do that, first, go to the setting section from your WordPress Dashboard.

Setting on WordPress Content Management System

And from there select Permalinks.

Permalinks on WordPress Setting

Now, from the available options thick “Post Name”.

Setting Up a Blog Using WordPress Plugins

Google Docs is one must-have Blogging Tool for a Blogger. This web-based platform allows you to work on your Blog Content even offline & access them from anywhere as well as any device.

To begin with, first get your Google Docs and imagine an ideal fictionalized reader. The fictionalized is most of the time called an Audience Persona in marketing.

And when you’re totally ready to write your first Blog Post. All you need is just to open your Google Docs and then start to work on the Content Outline right off the bat.

The Outline includes the Heading, Subheading, Title, Introduction, and Conclusion part of your Blog Post.

But one thing to be sure of is, writing a Blog Post is not the same as the ones that you have been all the time taught in your High-school or even College.

In the Blogosphere, there are four important SKILLS you really need related to Blog Post writing. The skills will help you to become a better Blogger and Build a multi-millionaire Online Company.

These are;

  • Copywriting Skill
  • Creating Engaging Content Skill
  • Following an Editorial Calendar Skill
  • And Finally there is a Proofreading Skill

Let’s see them one by one.

Copywriting Skill

Copywriting Skill in a simple definition means having a great competency at writing Perfect Content. And the Content is specifically targeted at driving sales or enticing the right Visitors to make a buy.

It is most common by Online Entrepreneurs & labeled as one of the essential instruments in a business’s marketing toolbox.

And at long last, you have also to finish the Copywriting with the perfect Closing. This is to take visitors from a typical Landing Page down to a Sales Funnel and finally turn them into Customers.

Unfortunately, most Bloggers are not good at Copywriting or Closing deals on a Call-To-Action(CTA) Pitch.

If by chance you have attentively discovered on your quest to start a blog, there are too many Salesy Bloggers. They just want to sell you something as soon as the moment you land on their web page.

In my experience, what I saw is only Two Or Three Bloggers. This Bloggers really stand out. And they over-deliver extremely important FREE Content more than you can handle without going around the bush.

These People Are Definitely good at what we are calling Copywriting skills. At the end of the day, they made you feel like they were definitely worth using their Affiliate Links. Which is thinking of buying a Product or trying one of their Paid Online Courses.

And I tell you that, if you master this skill, you can separate yourself from the mass Bloggers out there. So, there will be a high chance of Blogging Success ahead waiting for you.

Engaging Content

What do we mean by Engagement Content?

Engaging Contents is Content or Articles that are well targeted at making the audience feel like they are part of the Content. And they are directly related to solving their Pain Points via a captivating CONVERSATIONAL FORMAT.

So how can you create one of these types of Content?

Well, it starts from;

  • Making your Blog easily navigable
  • Adding perfectly sized, formatted & compressed VISUALS
  • Integrating Infographics
  • Backing up your articles with DATA & Facts
  • Using the words “I” and “You” most of the time

For the purpose of Visuals, you can use Copyright FREE Licensed images from the Popular Stock Photo Sites.

There are many available options for you. From the paid ones like Getty Images and Istock to the completely FREE ones like Pixabay & Unsplash.

Besides, when it comes to Visuals, One Study shows a Blog Post with images gets 94% more views than Blog Posts with no images. It’s the same with Social Media Content though.

Blog Post with Visuals gets 94% views

So don’t turn down this opportunity when you start a blog and become part of the blogosphere!

Editorial Calendar

You heard that “Hard-Work with Consistency is the KEY to success and it will definitely pay off in the end” right?

That’s true! It is the same with blogging and even better.

With these means, you have to get organized in the very beginning before you’re gonna get desperate in the long term.

You have to have in your mind an Editorial Calendar with a bunch of Blog Post Titles in it to be published in the future.

As a result, you’ll stay Consistency plus you will know which article is going to link to which.

On top of that, you have to strictly Follow your Editorial Calendar and stick to it.

Progress is progress! You have to finish a Blog Post that you have started right on time.

After all, the number of Blog Posts doesn’t count. As long as you’re publishing super High-Quality Evergreen Content according to your SCHEDULE. You’re on the right track and you’ll get there soon enough.

Proofreading Skill

And finally, Proofreading Skill is making sure that you have checked the Grammar & Readability of your Content. And eventually, weed out unnecessary silly errors or delete pages in word document.

For that purpose, there is one great tool you should definitely use as a Blogger. It is called Grammarly.

Grammarly is one of the best Blogging Tools when it comes to writing a Professional Blog Post.

The surprising fact is that most Bloggers are using it beginning from their first time of starting a blog.

As a Starter, the FREE plan will help you correct some basic writing mistakes. Like grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. But if you want more FEATURES the Pro Plan which starts at $12/month is definitely worth it. It boosts your Content Writing Expert Levels.

That is it!

At the bottom, after you have finished your Draft, don’t forget to do some quick Proofreads.

This Practice will help you to look over if there are things left to be added or removed. This is all before transferring your Content from Google Docs to WordPress to hit that PUBLISH button.

How to Write a Blog Post

STEP #2 Get to Promote it Everywhere

The Promoting Part is all about making your Blog Posts reach out to a wider audience.

With the result that you are able to get the most out of the Hard-Work of Content Creation Processes and the tough STEPs of starting a blog that you had been through.

SEO

Promoting a Blog using SEO

Hmm… SEO?

As a Beginner to the topic of “How to Start a Blog”, when you hear the term SEO for the first time it seems like jargon.

But don’t worry, I have been there too! And every other Professional Blogger too!

Anyhow, SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. And it is all about optimizing & advancing your Blog Post for Search Engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.

As a result, once you’re perfectly past the requirements, your Blog Posts can effortlessly rank on Page 1 of the Search Results.

Mastering SEO is one of the Ultimate Successes of a Blogger.

Because getting Traffic from SEO isn’t easily comparable to other METHODS and it is a way that top Bloggers are getting their 90%+ Website Traffic from.

To get you started as a Blog Beginner, there are some basic things you need to know about SEO.

And These Are;

  • Using Headings & Bullet Points to break Paragraphs
  • Scoring High on Content Readability by using short sentences & paragraphs
  • Focusing on a Single Keywords or Post Topics at a time
  • Link Building & Semantic Keywords Strategy

And others you’ll learn along your Blogging journey.

That’s because SEO is such a broad scope even after 5 or so years you’ll never get the head to toe of SEO. Not to mention that there will be the latest Search Engine Algorithm Updates.

Social Media

Promoting a Blog through Social Media

Beyond SEO, the other best way to Promote your Blog Posts is through Social Media Campaigns.

All you need is just to create an account on relevant Social Media. Such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc. This is the same as Your Blog’s Brand Name & Logo.

And then embed your created Social Media Accounts Link to the Footer of your Blog.

As a result, Visitors are able to find & recognize you from Social Media Sites to your Blog and vice versa.

Adding a Social Media Share Button on your Blog Posts also can get you in front of new audiences’ eyes. Because when Visitors find your articles valuable, they will most of the time be willing to share them.

Besides, engaging with your Social Media Followers whether it is through Comments or Messages is the cherry on top.

You can even try out Pay Ads like Facebook Ads & Google Ads to SKYROCKET your Blog SUCCESS.

As with a few dollars spent on Paid Advertising, you’ll get hundreds or even Thousands of ROI within a short period of time.

The point here is to match & mix things in order to find out which will actually work at the time of starting a blog and then leverage a huge time specifically on 2 or 3 Social Media Sites.

But doing so, assure that you don’t miss a single visitor on the table, by not creating an account on other major Social Media Sites.

All Over The Web

Promoting a Blog all over the web

Seriously, why limit yourself to promoting your Blog only across Social Media and SEO When you can use the power of the whole WWW(World Wide Web)?

As I have said before, if you want to see a huge result from your Blog you should not consider it as a Personal Diary; instead, you gotta see it as a Business.

And a Business without advertising, especially Digital Marketing and Online Branding, reaches nowhere. Even if it has high-quality Products or Services in hand.

So, go out there and enjoy the advantages of the entire web.

These include;

  • Public Groups, Forms & Message Boards, Live Chats, etc.

In addition to that;

  • Do Guest Posts and Boost Backlinks
  • Comment on Blog Posts & YouTube Videos
  • Join the Link Party & Link Exchange Squads
  • Host Webinars and Attend Seminars

Moreover, use the Content Discovery Platforms like Outbrain if they are worth it.

Tips on Promoting your Blog on the web

Also, get to know the Top BLOGGERS in your Niche!

At first, your Competitors seem like they are Competitors at all, but later on, you’ll find out how welcoming, helpful & friendly The Online World is.

Much like other Business Models, Team works & collaboration are called for here. Because you’ll not get too far alone as a Business Person.

There is a saying “ If you want to go fast, go alone. But if you want to go far, go together.

That’s where the long-term Partnership begins!

At the end of the day, do not overdo it & spam the media, just do it in the smartest and creative ways possible and try to be in the right place at the right time.

And with time, you’ll see how massive results it brings to your Blog in terms of Driving Traffic.

As Well as Offline/Locally

Have you ever thought of promoting your blog outside of the untouched & unsmellable Imaginary Online World?

If you didn’t, now you’re gonna do it!

It’s funny, but the truth is your Blog Visitors when you first start a blog are going to be the people around you. These include Soulmate, Family, Friends, Friends of Friends, Acquaintances, Relatives, Neighbours, Classmates, Colleagues, Partners, Townsfolk, etc.

So, don’t always sit down hoping to attract unknown audiences. Just go outside your tiny COMPUTER SCREEN and tell your Grandma in real life that you have launched & started your own Blog from scratch.

Not only to the people around you but also if you want to take it to the whole new level of promotions, then go-

  • Showup in Student Gatherings & Public Festivals and announce it
  • Customize your T-shirt, Car and House with your Blog Logo
  • Give gift cards with your Blog name on it
  • Make your Blog “Part of Your Lifestyle”

More on Promoting your Blog

There are some rumors on Promotion. The rumor says in the Business World you have to separate your Personal Life from Work-Life and come up with a Pseudonym. Just like Satoshi Nakamoto, the person who developed Bitcoin, did in the Crypto World.

This might be true for some types of Jobs. But as long as you’re doing the right thing & running the right Business, I see nothing wrong with disclosing your identity instead of hiding it.

Believe me, it might be one of your Townsfolk Dude who becomes your fanatic advocate who will promote your Blog wherever he goes.

Or it may be one of your Close Friends who will be the one that’s always grateful to you. Because of mentioning to him or her “a Blog” in a random talk and from there changing his or her life forever.

Who knows?

Besides, revealing some interesting parts of your LIFE STORY and integrating it into your Business’s “About Page”. This most of the time lightens up the Engagements and increases Authenticity as well as builds trust.

Of course, if only you do it well(Too many Boring or Irrelevant details are not going to work here).

Conclusion on Promoting your Blog

The point here as a Conclusion of Promoting your Blog, in general, is to never leave behind the latest Promotion Strategies.

That’s how the most successful Guru Entrepreneurs reached this Victory Stage. They are equipped with up-to-date Marketing Tools and Kits.

And if you think keeping up with the latest trends doesn’t matter, remember what happened to a Blockbuster.

Where one time had the chance to buy Netflix for $50 million on an agreement. But not realizing the power of the internet, it had to face bankruptcy soon after.

Now Netflix is worth over $290 Billion!

The same with YAHOO.

Yahoo turned down Google for a $1 million offer when the dot.com bubble was in its infant stage, but now Google is worth a whopping $1978 Billion in 2021.

Shortly afterward, YAHOO was then acquired by Verizon Media Group in 2017 only for a combined $5Billion.

The above story can tell a lot.

So always stay ahead of the Current Trends in your Blogging Niche. This is especially in the areas of promotions & advertisements because that’s where the money is.

STEP #3 It’s Time to Monetize the Blog that You have Started

HERE we come to the spice slice point!

You have all the things in your hand as a Blog Starter.

Blogs are set up, well designed, and up and running.

You’re creating Unique, Long-Form, and HIGH-QUALITY Blog Posts in your Google Docs if not every day, every other day right?

Plus you’re generating a decent number of visitors(in thousands to count) via strategic promotions.

Good job!

So now, I think it’s the perfect time to reap an income from your Hard-Work and get an ROI(Return On Investment) reward.

And believe me, it isn’t that hard either because 59% of Bloggers are making money from their Blog.

59% are making money from their Blog

How much money can you make Blogging?

But the question is how much can you really make money Blogging?

Well, most of the Bloggers are not making money at all, some are generating $200 – $10,000 a month, and a few are bringing in over $100,000 every single month.

The time how long it takes to make money Blogging is also different within Bloggers.

Some kick it off by making well over $10,000 within their first 6 months of Starting a Blog, while others make their first $100 after 2 years or so.

In general, when it comes to making money from a blog, it is not a get-rich-quick-scheme idea like some other Online Businesses.

To reach Blogging SUCCESS, you need to Work Super Hard as well as cross so many Stages.

Then, once you cross that stage, there you find a ton of ways to monetize your blog.

And the following are the most common ones.

Let’s cut to the chase!

ADS

ADS are the most common and easiest ways to monetize a Blog, especially informational TARGETED Posts.

They are stepping stones to realizing that you can actually Make Money Online. Which is insane!

But in order to get satisfying results from this one and reach the hall of fame, you need some traffic to get there.

This means You’ll barely make a decent income out of Displaying Ads if you don’t have enough traffic which can be 30,000 visitors a month or more.

So if you’re not Working Harder towards that plus if you’re not Being Patient and Trusting Your Journey, you can’t just make that workout, I guess.

With that being the case, when you’re thinking of trying ADS, there are a ton of Ad Networks for Publishers to try out for Bloggers.

From the moderate traffic required with low RPM(Ad Revenue Per Thousand Impressions) $0.2 – $7.5 ones like Google AdSense and Ezoic. And to the high traffic required with high RPM $10 – $32 ones like Mediavine & Adthrive.

It all depends on your choice as well as the status of your Blogs such as the Quality of Content and the Location of Visitors.

For example, Mediavine has the following requirements;

  • Original Content
  • Long-form Engaging Content
  • Good Standing with Google AdSense

And you can find that on their Official Site when you’re ready to APPLY.

Mediavine Requirements

Hmm… When you first start a Blog, by chance you’ll probably come across some articles that say “ADS are a distraction. As well as they decrease Blog’s Performances like Website Speed plus some will pay less than nothing and won’t be worth it”.

And in that case, if you’re looking for other alternative options to make money off your blog, how about this?

Do you write Sponsored Posts and get paid in return without killing your Blog UX?

Yep, you can!

Here is how it works: you write a review Blog Post about a company’s Product or Services that are well related to your Blog Niches to your Visitors. And finally, you’ll get paid based on the negotiations.

That’s it.

After all, since Sponsored Posts are Income Targeted, make sure that you don’t overdo it.

Plus watch out carefully for the things that you are gonna RECOMMEND.

Because there’s nothing worse than losing the well-established Authentic Audiences that you have built for years. This is all by recommending them bad or low-quality Products or Services just for the quick bucks.

Affiliate Marketing

Out of all the Blog Monetization methods, Affiliate Marketing is one of the best picks of most Successful 6-Figure Bloggers.

Monetizing your Blog with Affiliate Marketing is such a lucrative way to stay profitable as a Full-time Blogger. Of course, if you know well how it really works.

Affiliate Marketing is all about recommending other’s Products and Services to your Blog Visitors.

And if they end up purchasing it through your UNIQUE REFERRAL LINK. That means, within the affiliate cookie’s life(cookie duration), then you’ll get some commissions from the sale. The commissions can be 10%, 30%, or even 50% of the sale.

It is as simple as that!

Tips on Affiliate Marketing

As a tip to put the affiliate links in front of the right customers, you can use any Digital Marketing means beyond your Blog Posts. This works great for Affiliate Marketers.

Such as Social Media Marketing, Email Marketing, Video Streaming Sites, Webinar Platforms, etc.

Specifically, Email Marketing Stands as the best of the rest for this purpose. Because I’m sure that you already heard that a couple of times before “money is on the list”. That’s right!

So;

  • Get one of the best Email Marketing Services without delay
  • Set it up from the first day
  • Collect SUBSCRIBERS on the way
  • then Start to shout out Newsletters on a regular basis.

And if you want to jump straight to the answer, ConvertKit Email Marketing Services is the best pick for Bloggers. Check it out here.

In the end, if you want to become a Successful Affiliate Marketer, be ready to be at some point good at Creativity and great at Closing Deals.

More on Affiliate Programs & Affiliate Marketing Networks

Also, make sure that you have joined the high-paying Affiliate Programs. As well as don’t forget Affiliate Networks like Amazon Associates, Cj, ShareAsale, and Clickbank.

This is to get the most out of Affiliate Marketing Blog monetization methods.

Having said that, also before you just pick and start to Promote the Products, check for the Terms & Conditions or Policies clearly.

For example, Amazon Associate Program has some Strict Policies.

Like;

  • Promotional Limitations
  • not allowed Distribution of Special Links
  • frankly Disclosing the agreement that you’ll get a Commission from Promoting the Product, etc.
Amazon Associates Program

Selling Digital or Physical Products

Have you got some Products in hand to be completely sold from your established Physical Stores?

Look no further!

Because this is the other way to monetize your Blog by setting up an eCommerce Store using the most popular eCommerce Platforms.

Or even if you don’t have the products to be just sold, but you’re interested in an Ecommerce Business, you can also Start Dropshipping on the side.

The surprising part is, it doesn’t always necessarily have to be PHYSICAL PRODUCTS to be then sold through your Blog. DIGITAL PRODUCTS also works like hell.

If you have some expertise in a specific subject matter. Then why not sell your knowledge in the form of Online Courses, e-Books, Templates, or Spreadsheets?

The Choice is Yours!

Offering Online Services Using Your Blog as a Showcase

Offering Online Services using your Blog

As a Blog Beginner at the beginning of your journey, you won’t get Incredible Results shortly after.

Because every little thing needs some time. Especially getting enough traffic to monetize your blog. This is with Ads, Sponsored Posts, Affiliate Marketing or even Selling Digital or Physical Products.

As a Blogger you have to wear many hats. Being a Blogger doesn’t really mean you’re going to just have fun all the time with your Laptop.

Even so, the question here is: Do you have the time to work on the side?

If so, you don’t have to watch quietly crossing your arms as your Blog grows to the point you want it to be.

This means, you can start to offer Online Services that are well related to your Blog Niches. This is by showing off your mini viable Website and using it as a showcase to make money out of it.

Whatever it is.

This can be;

  • Freelancing
  • Content Writing
  • Coaching & Consulting
  • Virtual Assisting

The reality is that SEO Gurus don’t make money from ranking on page 1 of Google, but just by selling you Online Courses, and Premium SEO Tools.

Be picky as well as Wise on the Blogging Tools you’re gonna use.

You’ll need to use STRONG PASSWORDS that cannot easily be just predicted by Cyberpunk.

Switch to HTTPS

Google and other Search Engines have come a long way from the good old days. This is to favor Websites with HTTPS application layer protocol in general rather than with only the HTTP ones.

That’s right. Switching to HTTPS(Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) is another incredible way of protecting a Blog. As well as creating secure communications over the internet.

HTTPS is simply the combination of HTTP with either SSL or TLS.

The best part is, many Web Hosting Services such as Bluehost, SiteGround, WP Engine, etc have come with the options.

And the option allows you to easily change your Blog’s Website Address(URL) to HTTPS from its Default HTTP.

Try a VPN

Additionally, if you want your Blog to be in a more Secure Position, you can try out VPN(Virtual Private Networks).

This is a Private Network that allows you to use the Internet via an ENCRYPTED CONNECTION.

Using a VPN is one of the finest ways to Protect a Blog from Hackers. Plus add another Security Layer to a Multi-million Dollar Internet Company(Yes, I’m talking about a Blog).

Especially if you’re a Digital Nomad or you’re using Public Networks, VPN is for you.

On top of that, there are the cheap VPN services to choose from.
